Take Action

The Master Plan for Fred Caterson Reserve was adopted in November 2020.

Friends of Fred Caterson Reserve have written to Council and Councillors and our concerns were not addressed.

There is still time to have the Master Plan amended or totally rescinded, if this is what our Councillors choose.

If you care for Fred Caterson Reserve, our shared community greenspaces, our environment, and our suburbs, please take action too.

TO TAKE ACTION

1

Visit Fred Caterson Reserve, particularly the former pony club site, and imagine how you would like to see it in the future. Report all sightings of threatened species.

2

Read the Master Plan, including the new Concept Plan for the elite rugby facility, which requires the destruction of more than a rugby-field size of old-growth vegetation in the former pony club site. This facility is of highest priority for Council at this time.

3

Write to decision-makers now and/or during public consultation periods that may arise. Despite what The Hills Shire Council is telling us, the Master Plan can still be amended or rescinded by Councillors. Links to decision-makers' contact details are listed below.

You may find useful points to include in our Open Letter and comments on Council's response to it. Decision-makers include:
